The Jodhpur district court on Friday asked Bollywood superstar Salman Khan to deposit Rs 20, 000 in connection with Illegal Arms Act case. Salman Khan’s counsel Hastimal Saraswat told media that his client will deposit the said amount today.”There’ll be no questions and answers only bail bond has to be submitted. It is not essential for the convict to be present,” said the lawyer. The Chief Judicial Magistrate court had in January acquitted the the actor after giving him the benefit of doubt in the 18-year-old case. But the state government appealed against his acquittal in March. On July 6, the court had exempted him from appearing in person. The charges against Salman were that he had illegally used his weapons to kill two black buck deer in a village close to Jodhpur in 1998 while he was shooting for the film ‘Hum Saath Saath Hain’. Khan was accused of keeping firearms illegally, that is, beyond their expiry date.
